Concerts

This year’s Winter Concert and Party (Sunday, January 8, 2017) was a special event: a celebration of music for organ, held at the Church of the Holy Family in New Rochelle. A festive reception in the holiday-decorated Rectory followed the concert.

The Westchester Musicians Guild opened the 2016-2017 season with our Fall Concert on Sunday, September 25, 2016. The musical portion of the afternoon featured Trio d’été: Rebecca Eckfeld, violin; Carole Tilson, cello; William Eckfeld, piano.

The trio performed three works:

Fantasy Pieces, Op. 88 by Robert Schumann (1810-1856)

Three Nocturnes, by Ernest Bloch (1880-1959)

Trio Fantasy, by William Eckfeld (b. 1951)

A festive reception followed the concert.

Trio d’été Bios

Rebecca Eckfeld, a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, has been a member of the Rochester Philharmonic, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and the Opera Orchestra of New York. At present, she is a member of the St. Thomas Orchestra, the Queens Oratorio Chamber Orchestra, Trio d’été, the Eckfeld Duo, and a founding member of the Norwood Trio.

William Eckfeld is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and has been a member of the Rochester Philharmonic and the Dallas Symphony Orchestras. For 26 years he was the orchestra director at White Plains High School and has served as president of the Westchester County School Music Association. He is an active composer whose works are often played in the Westchester County area. He is presently a member of the St. Thomas Orchestra, Trio d’été, the Eckfeld Duo, and organist at Holy Trinity Church in New Rochelle.

Carole Tilson is a graduate of the New England Music Conservatory and has been a member of the Orquestra De Veracruz in Mexico. She has performed extensively throughout the New York area including work with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and the New Jersey Opera. She is a founding member of the Norwood Trio and the Trio d’été.

Trio d’été made its public debut on September 14, 2014. While the members have performed together over many years in other capacities, they finally came together in September 2013 to inaugurate their trio.
