LOCAL PIANO VIRTUOSO GARY GOODMAN PERFORMS CONCERT IN CHAPPAQUA AT THE CHURCH OF ST. MARY THE VIRGIN ON SUNDAY MAY 6 AT 2 PM

-This recital will benefit the Ossining food pantry-

Gary Goodman, a local virtuoso, is proud to offer Westchester families a benefit concert on Sunday, May 6 at The Church of St. Mary The Virgin in Chappaqua from 2-4 pm.  The Church is located at 191 South Greeley Avenue in Chappaqua.  The Church will be accepting $ 10.00 donations at the concert to benefit the Ossining Food Pantry.

This is Gary’s eighth and final benefit concert in the cycle of Beethoven’s 32 Piano Sonatas.  The program includes Sonata in E, Op. 14, No. 1, Sonata in E flat, Op. 7, Sonata in F, Op. 54, and Sonata in C minor, Op. 111.

A resident of Briarcliff Manor, Mr. Goodman earned his Masters of Music at Juilliard under Mr. Josef Raieff.  Mr. Goodman’s performance experience ranges from playing numerous concerto engagements in his native Southern California to solo performances at Alice Tully Hall, and at Weill Recital Hall; from a performance in Sao Paulo, Brazil to a broadcasted recital in Washington D.C. at the prestigious Phillips Collection Series.  Gary’s New York City debut in 1987 won critical acclaim by New York Times. He was a Semi-finalist in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition (1980).

Locally, Gary continues to teach private and group lessons and is a member of the Westchester Musicians Guild.  Besides performing benefits for The Church of St. Mary The Virgin, Mr. Goodman has also performed benefits for Midnight Run, Episcopal Haitian Relief Effort, as well as The St. Theresa School in Briarcliff.   He has also performed at The Emelin Theater.
